The species is traditional of Paraguay and massive production zones concentrate in the northern region where plantations, income source of 4500 families, are presently cultivating 7800 hectares.
The Black Tobacco Absolute is obtained through the traditional process for producing the black tobacco leaves absolute (Solanaceae - Var. Nicotiana rustica).
The process implies the use of the tree’s strongest leaves.
